JSD Crew

https://vimeo.com/114245308
We are a small dance school based in Acton Town. We learn Choreography and street dance from Shala who is known for Pharrel, Charli XCX, MTV EMAs and many more. We are from the age of 7- 14 and practice every Sunday. We have worked very hard for our very first performance.

The classes started over 3 years ago under Nikki. She posted up an ad on mixb seeking for a street dance teacher to take over the casual classes she had started up in Acton high school due to her move to Spain. Soon after Shala( Pharrell, Kiesza, Charli XCX, MTV EMAs) took over and over the past 2 years have had the success of teaching multiple Japanese girls from the ages of 6-14, brought successful teachers over from Tokyo for workshops (Mikael- AI, King of Swagg crew, Yuka – EXILE, E Girl, BoA). ‘The girls are a blessing to me. I care for them dearly and I keep hem close to my heart. They give me strength and hope with their hard work and passion. I have seen girls who couldn’t speak very well in Japanese blossom into well spoken girls -Shala’.

Classes: every Sunday @ Acton High school (nearest tube: Acton Town)

10:30-11:30 £10/ class (£5/ trial class)

The Green Chorus
http://www.nipponclub.co.uk/html/05.html

The London Okinawa Sanshinkai, is a collection of people who are enthusiastic about Okinawan folk and classical music and traditional dance. Amongst the members are Okinawans, mainland Japanese and several other nationalities.  We play and teach Okinawan folk and classical music and traditional dance using the sanshin (a 3-stringed lute), taiko (stick drums), samba (like a castanet) and sometimes other instruments like the koto and fue (flute).
